Automatic Chicago Concert reviews
They are frustrating to see live...
I've seen them twice in the last two years, in Sept 2026 and Aug 2026. Very impressive that for a guy who has been singing for Automatic for 30ish years, he still sounds exactly the same. He hasn't ever needed or tried to change his sound at all, and hasn't lost his sound. The annoying part is that when you see them live, he never sings the popular/famous songs the same way they were recorded and the way everyone knows them. He totally changes the tempo of the lyrics, and adds all new stuff half the time. I don't care for that "freestyle" version of singing. Sometimes I'll admit that I don't mind that, but when I'm trying to sing along to my favorite Automatic song and it sounds nothing like the album version, it's almost like listening to a totally different song. I'm paying to hear the songs the way I know and love them!
